About the Port
Washington Historical Society The Port Washington Historical Society
(PWHS) is in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin and was founded in 1991. The Society
is a volunteer, non-profit educational organization that is dedicated to the
preservation, advancement, and dissemination of knowledge of the history of
the Port Washington area. The current membership of the Society is
nearly 240. The newsletter Historical
Perspectives is published four times a year and features stories of local
interest as well as updates to the membership. Quarterly membership meetings feature
speakers and presentations on topics relevant to the history of the city of
Port Washington. Meetings are frequently held at the Senior Center but often
are at special locations. Historical Perspectives and this website will include
up-to-date information as quarterly meeting dates approach. The Society operates the 1860 Port
Washington Light House / Light Station Museum and maintains a Resource Center
& Office. The Society is headed by a Board of
Directors that guides the Society. The 2010-2011 Board and officers include: Jackie

Keller The Board meets monthly on the 3rd
Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm and on an as needed basis for special
meetings. Board meetings are held at 429 Grand Avenue and are open to the
membership. |
